| Missing 13th Amendment Look what I found!
Source: The rights of an American citizen ... - Google Books Quote: |
XIII. If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honor, or shall, without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any Emperor, King, Prince, or Foreign Power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under the, or either of them.
| How come this book written in 1832 has this amendment, but the current Federal Constitution does not?
Here it is again from a book in 1824: http://books.google.com/books?id=YWY...accept&f=false
That books calls the amendments, articles.
