Today I head on down to the US district court house to get a certificate of search on my true name.
The lady didn't really know what to do as she hadn't done one in 8 years. She gave me the free search certificate which only covers computer records from the mid 80's on. I asked for the complete search, she made a few phone calls and mentioned that it would need to come from Chicago. I went to the federal building in Rockford, a different district, but smaller court. I said no problem, I'll take the free search and I'll be back tomorrow for the extensive search.
Then I asked to create a "misc case jacket". She opposed to creating one saying that usually this and they usually that. I told her to stop telling me what she usually does and just create the file. Again, after speaking to the Chicago office, she created the jacket and I filed the certificate of search into it. She assigned me a civic case number and a judge
Some time ago, I had my mother sign and notarize a statement of live birth, similar to what my birth certificate looked like. I asked her to file that document into the case jacket as well.
I have a couple of concerns regarding the assignment of a judge, but we'll see what he says when he gets the case. The other concern is that I'm not sure she filed my statement of live birth. She did take a copy of it, but she did not stamp it.
I really felt like she was an incompetent clerk of records. It was like pulling teeth to get her to do what I asked her to do.
I will keep this updated as time progresses and will throw in some scans of documents.
Anyone have any comments regarding a judge being assigned?
