| Taxes: Whiskey Tax Rebellion Whiskey Rebellion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I suspect there was more going on with this than meets the eye. Notice from the article how the tax burden disproportionately fell on smaller distilleries and farmers. Also notice, that George Washington was a large distiller which large distillers were assessed a lesser value tax =D. Note also how quick force was used for enforcement action  of which Shay's Rebellion was recounted.Shays' Rebellion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I guess "business" doesn't really change =D. Did you know that GW grew hemp too?  |
